BEAT IT · ENGINEERING LEARNING ROUTE

Build the model. Test the reasoning. Explain the result.

Start with Engineering Foundations, then explore Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Before you begin

Basic algebra, ratios, scientific notation, and units. Engineering Foundations is the recommended bridge. All activities use paper or browser simulation; no physical electrical work is required.

Use paper, a calculator, and the browser models. Physical equipment is not required.

Your learning cycle

  1. Predict and draw the system.
  2. State assumptions and calculate with units.
  3. Change one input and inspect the result.
  4. Explain the evidence and model limits.

How this course relates to published university curricula

We use selected topic sequences and learning approaches as reference points. Each BEAT IT lesson, exercise, and illustration is original. This introductory survey is not a university course, degree, endorsement, or professional engineering qualification.

Georgia Tech: Electrical Engineering Degree ↗

Public curriculum reference for progression from mathematics and physics through circuit analysis, electronics, digital design, signals, and a design project. BEAT IT is an independent introductory course; it is not affiliated with Georgia Tech or equivalent to its degree.

MIT OpenCourseWare: Circuits and Electronics syllabus ↗

Public reference for learning outcomes involving circuit abstractions, analysis and design, storage-element dynamics, and transistor models. This introductory BEAT IT survey omits MIT’s full amplifier and higher-order circuit scope. Lessons and exercises are original; MIT materials are linked for optional study, not reproduced.

University courses include substantially more mathematical depth, supervised experiments, assessment, and study time. Follow the reference links for the full published requirements.
