The kite that would not fly
Lulu made a silver kite with a bright yellow tail. She ran across the yard, but the kite bumped the grass. She tried again. Bump. Lulu frowned. Grandma pointed to the trees. Their leaves were still. ‘A kite needs a little help from the wind,’ she said.
Lulu waited. She checked the string, smoothed the tail, and watched the branches. Soon one leaf wiggled, then another. ‘Now!’ said Grandma. Lulu ran, and the silver kite climbed above the fence.
